Phone buying guide
How to compare phone specifications without false precision
Use comparable definitions, source dates, variants, and limitations when building a shortlist.
Normalize the identity first
Confirm brand, exact model, region, storage, memory, carrier state, and condition before comparing specifications or prices. A family name is not a complete product identity.
Keep foldable cover and main displays, storage variants, and regional chipsets in distinct fields.
Separate facts from outcomes
Capacity, resolution, wattage, and weight are factual inputs. Battery life, camera quality, comfort, and performance are outcomes affected by software, environment, and workload.
A comparison should explain the relationship without pretending one input proves the outcome.
Expose uncertainty
Record the official source, review date, missing fields, and conflicting claims. Do not silently fill an unknown value from a different regional model.
A useful tool makes its calculation and comparison population visible so readers can judge whether the conclusion fits their needs.
